Playing the Field

Dennis Quaid is the latest actor to join the soccer comedy PLAYING THE FIELD and will star alongside: Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel and Uma Thurman, directed by Gabriel Muccino. The film follows a semi-pro soccer player turned little league coach (Butler), his ex-wife (Biel) a soccer mom (Thurman) who has a crush on Butler and a rival coach in Dennis Quaid. Strangely enough this story was supposed to be about little league baseball, but turned into soccer so that it could reach a wider international audience. Shooting is set to start later this month in Louisiana with a release most likely to come next spring or summer.

I’m not sure why exactly, but I just really like Dennis Quaid. He reminds me of my childhood because I just couldn’t get enough of INNERSPACE back in the day, which would explain why I love Meg Ryan as well- not so in love with Martin Short though. Hmmm, weird.

The two decided to end their relationship recently and "there are no hard feelings," a source tells PEOPLE exclusively. "It was completely mutual and they both decided it was time to move on."

The source adds that Biel is keeping her house in L.A. and she and Timberlake, who started dating in 2007, will remain friends.

Timberlake, 30, and Biel, 29, were spotted together looking cozy as recently as the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party on Feb. 27.

Reps for the couple have not commented on the split

Happy Birthday

Jessica Biel is celebrating her 29th birthday today. Jessica was born in Minnesota and grew up in Colorado where she was trained as a singer. She started her musical career at the age of nine when she performed in musical productions of popular shows including The Sound of Music, Annie and Beauty and the Beast.

By age 12, Jessica was modeling for print ads and starring in television commercials while she kept up her search for the next big thing. Her next big thing came in the form of the highly-successful and morally sound TV series 7th Heaven, a show where she played the role of Mary Camden , the daughter of a pastor; she was just 14-years-old.

While shooting 7th Heaven, she got her debut in the film industry when she acted opposite Peter Fonda on the award winning movie Ulee's Gold.

Jessica eventually buckled under the pressure of the "good girl" role that she played in 7th Heaven and after leaving the show she immediately launched into filming movies such as starring roles in The Rules of Attraction, Cellular and Blade: Trinity.

She is a University graduate from the Tuft University in Massachusetts and is also involved in several charities, one of which is PETA.
